Our Current Project: Providing Healthcare at Shanmukh Hospital Cherikulam is a village in Tamil Nadu with a population of 7000, surrounded by a cluster of 40 smaller villages. Healthcare in this region was administered through a small, under funded village hospital with bare minimum supplies, staffed by well intentioned nurses and volunteers. Since November 2001, we have provided much needed support and were able to provide the following: Full time Pediatrician Nebulizers an Electrocardiogram Medicine Medical Supplies The incomes of the community as a whole do not meet minimal living requirements. As such, any medical services are entirely dependent on donations and charitable offerings. Our current needs are the following - Furnish the Operating Room--Budget$10,000

Completed Projects: 1. Renovated Shanmukh Maternity and General Hospital Details: Paved the entire Shanmukh Hospital and painted the exterior; established a modern maternity ward with equipment; created a private examination room with equipment; overhauled the ambulance Budget:$7,500 Project Completed: December 2007 2. Expanding the Nesakarangal Orphanage Details: Plan 3000 sq ft – Phase I 1500sq ft. Extra space, bathroom, bunks & supplies. Budget: $37,500 Projected completed: January 2007 3. Established First School in Karungal Details: Plan 3000 sq. ft. –Phase I 1500 sq. ft. Bathroom, water purification, books, school supplies, tables, benches, etc, Budget: $45,000 Projected Completion: May 2008 4. Nesakarangal Dairy and Veg.
